A number of AECIN and AESCD projects have been supported by the Ille et Vilaine department (Conseil Départemental 35), often through co-financing, notably in the fields of maternal and child health, girls’ education and women’s empowerment.

Since the overthrow of President Bazoum in a coup d’état on July 26, 2023, and the suspension of French development aid to Niger in the summer of 2023, the Ille et Vilaine departmental council no longer supports projects in Niger.
