Rennes, in France, is the department of Ille-et-Vilaine’s seat as well as the historical capital of the Dukes of Brittany. It is located in the eastern part of Brittany, at the junction of the rivers Ille and Vilaine.

In 2009, the city had 206,604 inhabitants, ranking as the 11th city in France. Its economic area generates 751,527 jobs and is one of the most dynamic in France.
Rennes was the eighth city in France as regards the number of college students in 2011, it ranked as the first provincial city, and the third in the whole country as regards the ratio of wealth production per inhabitant.

Rennes is also the most pleasant town to live in according to the magazine Express, in 2012.

The city of Rennes supports Tarbiyya Tatali’s projects through the city’s Development Aid Fund.
